Alabama A&M’s Saldy Amparo-Smith garners SWAC Volleyball Preseason Honors

title image via aamusports Courtesy of Aliyah McDaniel | Assistant Athletics Communications Director, Alabama A&M Alabama A&M University volleyball senior outside hitter Saldy Amparo-Smith earned 2024 Preseason Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) honors, the conference announced Tuesday.   The Santo Domingo, DR native earned the 2023 SWAC Newcomer of the Year honor and received All-SWAC Second team recognition. She played 30 matches, in which she started in 27 of them. Amparo-Smith led the team with 244 kills, including a season-high 34 kills against Florida A&M.     Defensively, she tallied 160 digs and 33 total blocks.…

MEAC announces 2024 Volleyball Preseason Honors

The Bison were selected as the preseason favorites to win the conference. All awards were voted on by the conference’s head coaches and sports information directors.
