The Olympic career of Victor Wembanyama has officially begun.The 7-foot-4 French phenom won the tipoff against Brazil’s Bruno Caboclo on Saturday, marking his Olympic debut. Brazil got off to a hot start, building a 23-15 lead after the first quarter. After a quiet first quarter, Wembanyama (14 first-half points) sparked an 11-0 France run in the second and Evan Fournier hit a 3-pointer with 35 seconds left to give France a 39-36 halftime lead. Wembanyama finished with 19 points, 9 rebounds, four steals and three blocks to power France to a 78-66 victory over Brazil.
