Tennessee State guard Aaron Nkrumah was named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week. The senior averaged 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.0 steals in helping the Tigers to a pair of victories that have lifted TSU into a three-way tie for first place in the conference.
In Tennessee State’s 89-80 win over Lindenwood on February 19, Nkrumah scored 14 points, to go along with. 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and a steal. He chased that with a 26-point performance against SIUE in which he hit his first 8 shots and scored 19 points in the Tigers’ tone-setting first half. He also added a team-high 11 rebounds to go along with 4 assists and 3 steals.
Nkrumah now leads the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring, averaging 17.71 points per contest and his 77 steals rank second in the country.
This was the fourth time this season he has garnered POTW honors, more than any other player.
