The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Women’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday, March 17, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in meets last week. Anaya Martin and Mia Lindsey of Tuskegee University were recognized.
WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK | ANAYA MARTIN| Junior | Clarksburg, Md|TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY

Martin delivered a strong performance in the distance events for Tuskegee at the Falcon Classic hosted by the University of Montevallo. The junior finished first overall in the women’s 3000-meter steeplechase, crossing the line in 12:13.70 to lead a group of four Tuskegee runners in the event. Martin also placed third in the women’s 10,000 meters, recording a time of 41:25.76 and earning valuable points for the Golden Tigers in the distance events. Her performances helped Tuskegee demonstrate strong depth in the distance group while opening the outdoor season with a victory in the steeplechase.

Lindsey had an impressive debut in the multi-events for Tuskegee, finishing second overall in the women’s heptathlon with 3,715 points at the Falcon Classic. Lindsey’s performance led all Tuskegee competitors in the event and contributed eight team points in the meet standings. She also competed as a member of Tuskegee’s 4×400-meter relay team, helping the squad finish third overall with a time of 4:07.94. Her strong all-around showing highlighted her versatility and impact across multiple disciplines during Tuskegee’s outdoor season opener.
