Chicago Bulls Hire Acie Law IV as Vice President of Player Personnel

The Chicago Bulls continue reshaping their basketball operations department, reportedly hiring Acie Law IV as Vice President of Player Personnel.

Law joins Chicago after serving in scouting and player personnel roles with the Brooklyn Nets, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Sacramento Kings organizations, steadily building a strong reputation as a talent evaluator and front office executive.

The move also reunites Law with newly appointed Bulls Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Bryson Graham, his former teammate at Texas A&M Aggies. The pair helped elevate Texas A&M basketball during the mid-2000s, and now they’ll attempt to help guide a Bulls franchise searching for a clearer long-term identity.

Before transitioning into the executive ranks, Law carved out a professional playing career after being selected 11th overall in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. Though his NBA career never fully matched the expectations attached to a lottery pick, Law remained respected around the league for his basketball IQ and professionalism.

Ironically, Law also spent time with the Bulls during his playing days, making this latest chapter something of a full-circle moment.

Chicago’s decision to bring in Law signals the organization’s continued emphasis on building a more collaborative and modern front office structure. His experience with successful scouting departments — particularly his time within Oklahoma City’s highly regarded talent pipeline — could prove valuable for a Bulls team attempting to retool its roster while remaining competitive in the Eastern Conference.

As the franchise enters a new era under Bryson Graham’s leadership, the addition of Acie Law IV may not generate headlines like a blockbuster trade or major free-agent signing, but it could become an important behind-the-scenes move for the future of the organization.
