The New York Knicks will visit the White House to celebrate their 2026 NBA championship.

Knicks owner James Dolan confirmed that the franchise has accepted an invitation from the White House, ending any uncertainty surrounding whether the team would participate in the traditional championship visit.

“We just received an invitation which we’ve accepted, still have to figure out the details,” Dolan said. “I’ve known the president 30 years and I’m very proud to bring the team to the White House.”

The announcement comes just days after the Knicks captured their first NBA title since 1973, defeating the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals and completing one of the most memorable seasons in franchise history.

Championship visits to the White House have long been a tradition across professional and collegiate sports, serving as a recognition of a team’s accomplishments on the national stage. While such visits have occasionally become subjects of debate in recent years, the Knicks have made their intentions clear.

For a franchise that spent decades chasing another championship, the White House visit will serve as another milestone in a historic season that brought a title back to New York City.

Details regarding the date of the visit and the members of the organization expected to attend have not yet been announced.
