Alabama A&M’s Cornelious Brown IV Named to HBCU National Player of the Year Watch List

Alabama A&M quarterback Cornelius Brown IV has been named to the 2026 HBCU National Player of the Year Award Watch List, recognizing him as one of the premier players in HBCU football heading into the upcoming season.

Although injuries halted his 2025 season after just 4 games in 2025, Brown has emerged as one of the SWAC’s top signal-callers, earning national recognition for his leadership, poise, and ability to make plays through the air and on the ground. His inclusion on the preseason watch list underscores the expectations surrounding both Brown and the Bulldogs entering the 2026 campaign.

The HBCU National Player of the Year Award annually honors the most outstanding player across Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Brown’s selection places him among an elite group of athletes expected to compete for one of the highest individual honors in HBCU football.

As Alabama A&M prepares for the season, Brown will once again be at the center of the Bulldogs’ offense. His performance will be instrumental in the program’s pursuit of a SWAC championship while he looks to turn preseason recognition into postseason hardware.
