BREAKING: Allisha Gray Day-to-Day After Minor Procedure on Left Hand Ahead of WNBA Finals

The Atlanta Dream could be getting closer to having one of their biggest stars back on the court.

Atlanta Dream All-Star guard Allisha Gray revealed Tuesday that she underwent a minor procedure on her left hand and is currently considered day-to-day, according to WSB-TV reporter Alison Mastrangelo.

Gray suffered the injury during Game 1 of Atlanta’s WNBA Semifinals matchup against the New York Liberty on October 4. She has not played since, missing the final two games of the series as the Dream completed a three-game sweep to advance to the WNBA Finals.

Gray Back Shooting at Practice

There is an encouraging sign for Atlanta fans.

Gray was seen participating in shooting drills during Tuesday’s practice at Gateway Center. Her left ring finger and pinky were taped together as she worked on her shot.

Gray has not disclosed the exact nature of the procedure or confirmed whether it involved surgery. However, her return to the court for shooting drills offers a positive development as the Dream prepare for the biggest series in franchise history.

Can Gray Play in the WNBA Finals?

Atlanta is preparing to face the Golden State Valkyries in the 2026 WNBA Finals, with Game 1 scheduled for Saturday, October 17, in San Francisco.

Gray’s availability could be a major factor in the series. She led the Dream in regular-season scoring, averaging 19.0 points per game, while contributing 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals.

Despite playing without Gray for most of the semifinal series, Atlanta found a way to eliminate New York and secure its first Finals appearance since 2013.

Having Gray back would give the Dream another proven scorer and two-way playmaker against a Golden State team that swept the Las Vegas Aces in the semifinals.

For now, her status remains day-to-day, and there is no official confirmation that she will be available for Game 1.
