Back in June when news started to surface of Nike SB and Jordan Brand teaming up on an Air Jordan 4, anticipatory excitement was high with the near endless possibilities a collaboration between these two titans could birth.
The initial images that have surfaced has completely dashed those hope, as it appears this is a disappointing case of the whole not being more than the sum of its parts; despite the prodigious resources and design minds at their disposal, what appears to have been birthed screams a derivative, lazy and uninspired rehash of a previous release, in this case the “Black Cat” Jordan 4.
Though the initial image is far less than high-definition, what can be gleaned is a monochromatic Air Jordan 4 with a black suede upper, with the only bit of visual variety being the Jumpman on the tongue. A black midsole that houses an updated and a skate-specific cushioning response setup and matching rubber outsole can be seen below the aforementioned upper.
This latest version of disappointment encapsulated in leather an rubber is slated, as it currently stands, to debut at some point in March 2023. More information on these will be provided as it avails itself.
