Alabama State quarterback Andrew Body plans to enter the transfer portal. He announced his intentions Tuesday afternoon via social media, offering thanks and gratitude to the Alabama State fanbase, Coach Eddie Robinson, and other supporters.
In his first year as a Hornet, Body suffered an injury in the Hornets’ season opener against North Carolina Central in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge last season, limiting him to just 1 game.
In 2025 he took part in 8 games, before his season was cut short due to a shoulder injury, completing 113 of 160 passes for 1,770 yards, 20 touchdowns, and just 1 interception, while adding another 518 yards and 4 touchdowns on 71 carries. He helped lead the Hornets to a 10-2 season and earned a host of hardware for his infield exploits, including being named the SWAC Offensive Player of the Year, 2025 Stats Perform HBCU National Player of the Year,
2025 First-Team All-American (BOXTOROW),
2025 BOXTOROW National Offensive Player of the Year as well as being named
2025 First-Team All-SWAC.
