The Anthony Davis trade rumors have been swirling about for at least a year. With Lebron James signing with the Lakers and Davis signing with James’ Klutch Sports, there was immediate speculation that it was only a matter of time before the Pelicans’ all-world forward would be donning the purple and gold. Throughout the rampant trade talks , Davis has tried to be the good soldier, saying he’s trying to help lead his team and not focused on the rumours, etc.
It appears that time has come to an end. What was expected by many has finally happened. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Davis has requested a trade and has told the Pelicans that he has no intention of signing the “supermax” extension he was eligible for.
Wojnarowski adds that his agent, Rich Paul says Davis wants to be moved to a team, “that allows him the chance to win consistently and compete for a championship.”
