It appears that even the New Orleans Pelicans winning the draft lottery (or the draft Zion Williamson sweepstakes, as it has been touted) has not softened disgruntled Anthony Davis’ stance on wanting out of New Orleans. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, his trade desires have not wavered.
Davis let it be known that he had no intention of resigning with the Pelicans when his current deal expires and that they should move him. This lead to an unusual public haggling with the Los Angeles Lakers over the potential acquisition of the superstar forward. The falling through of that deal seemed to torpedo the seasons of both the Pelicans and the Lakers.
If and when they decide to move Davis, the combining of what he could net with potentially Zion Williamson could go a long way of softening the blow of losing a player of his calibre.
