The Chicago Bulls announces that Lauri Markkanen will play Tuesday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Markkanen has been out a month with a pelvic stress reaction. No word if Markkanen will be on any sorts of minutes restriction but with Bulls head coach Jim Boylan’s mystifying rotations, that may not prove to be a factor. Kyrie Irving undergoes surgery for shoulder injury

Tuesday, Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder to repair an impingement. The surgery and subsequent recovery means the end of Irving’s season. It was an injury-riddled 2019-20 campaign for Irving , with a myriad of injuries limiting him to just 20 games. In those 20 games, Irving was at an All-NBA level, 27.4 points, 6.4 assists and 5.2 rebounds per contest.
