According to The Athletic and Stadium’s Shams Charnia, Blake Griffin, who has yet to play in 2019-20 due to hamstring and knee issues, has been cleared to resume basketball activities and is now listed as “day-to-day.”
Unfortunately for the six-time All-Star, injuries are not all that uncommon. He missed his entire rookie campaign due to a knee injury and has missed a whopping 114 games over the past 5 seasons.
The hope in Detroit is Griffin can build upon his first season in the Motor City that saw him average a career-high 24.5 points per game in addition to 7.5 rebounds and 5.4 rebounds.
Griffin said this to Charania about his return:
“I’m close, very close. The training staff tells me it’s one day at a time. They tell me what I’m doing the next day, and that’s it, because they know I’d go crazy if I have a timetable.”…I feel great and I’m ready to go whenever they give me the green light.”
