According to reporting from The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Chicago Bulls have signed free agent guard Talen Horton Tucker to a partially guaranteed contract.
Charania adds that THT will have the opportunity to make the team.
Horton-Tucker could have his work somewhat cut out for him, as the Bulls’ roster is chock full of guards, including Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, Leroy Carter, recently acquired Josh Giddey, and Chris Duarte, the returning Lonzo Ball and Zach LaVine is still on the roster.
After being taken with the 50th overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2019 NBA Draft. He spent three seasons in the purple and gold, showing flashes of high-level play, mixed with, for Lakers fans, frustrating bouts of inconsistency. After three seasons in which he collectively averaged 9.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per contest, he was traded, along with Stanley Johnson, to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Patrick Beverley.
In his time with the Jazz, Horton-Tucker averaged 10.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 20.0 minutes per contest on .409/.306/.773 splits.
