IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME FOR WINS
Hampton utilized a 31-point effort from Michael Eley to secure an 84-77 win over Jackson State at the Chris Paul HBCU Classic. The senior guard went 9-for-15 from the floor with four triples and a 9-for-9 showing from the charity stripe. He also chipped in five boards and two blocks. Christian Watson provided 18 points and four assists in 28 minutes off the bench. Etienne Strothers and Josh Ogundele reached double figures in scoring with 11 and 10 points apiece, respectively.
Six players produced double-digit scoring, led by a 22-point, seven-rebound, three-steal performance from Kyle Pulliam, to help William & Mary earn a 96-83 win over Radford. Pulliam went 6-for-7 from the floor and 9-of-10 from the free-throw line en route to eclipsing the 1,000-point threshold for his career. Reese Miller rattled off 17 points in reserve, while Chase Lowe put together an all-around performance with 12 points, six boards and five assists. Kilian Brockhoff, Jo’el Emanuel and Finn Lally all notched 10 points apiece.
SPREADING HOLIDAY CHEER… AND BASKETBALL
Hampton will continue its slate at the Chris Paul HBCU Classic in Atlanta, Ga., on Friday, taking on Grambling State in a 5 p.m. tilt on ESPNU. Friday’s showdown will mark the first meeting between the two historic programs.
Towson will welcome Notre Dame (Md.) for a 6 p.m. tilt inside SECU Arena on Friday. The contest can be streamed on FloCollege.
Drexel will look take down Mount St. Mary’s at home in a 6 p.m. showdown on FloCollege and NBC Sports Philadelphia. The Dragons will look to secure their first win in the third all-time meeting with the Mountaineers, a series that spans 113 years.
