While the age part is understandable, Cousins is 30 and trying to come back from two devastating injuries, torn Achilles and ACL, that happened in back-to-back years. That ,coupled with the emergence of Christian Wood , made Cousins expendable.
It is somewhat head scratching that in a sport where height matters, the Rockets want to get smaller. This season Boogie has been coming off the bench and has been averaging 9.6 points and 7.6 rebounds in only 20.2 minutes per contest. As Cousins can still play, and I think at a very high level, I would expect he will be fielding calls from several teams, most prominently two teams on opposite sides of the country who both have championship aspirations and are in desperate need of size.
