Week 10 of Dr.Cavil’s Inside the HBCuU Sports Lab Women’s Major Division Top 5 saw a new team enter the mix , while two other teams changed positions in the rankings.
5.Alabama State Hornets ( 15-14, 12-6)

The Hornets of Alabama State enters the pols at No.5 , after being unranked the previous week. Alabama State ended the regular season winning seven of their last ten games and finished tied for third, along with Southern, in the SWAC.
4. Norfolk State Spartans ( 16-13, 11-3)

Norfolk State dropped a spot to fourth in the Week 10 rankings. The Lady Spartans ended the season on a bit of a sour note with a 74-59 loss to Howard. The loss snapped a five game winning streak that was bookended with defeats at the hands of the Lady Bison. Norfolk State enters the MEAC Tournament seeking to claim their fourth consecutive title and trip to the NCAA Tournament.
3. Alcorn State Braves ( 17-12, 14-4)

Alcorn rose a spot in the weekly polls after being ranked fourth the previous week. The Braves suffered 64-60 loss to Arkansas-Pine Bluff, in their regular season finale, ending a three-game winning streak. Alcorn enters the SWAC Tournament as the No.2 seed.
2. Howard Bison (23-7, 13-1)

The Lady Bison of Howard University remain at No.2 in the weekly rankings. The Lady Bison continued their romp through the MEAC with a 74-59 win over Norfolk State in the season finale. The Bison head into the MEAC Tournament as the overwhelming favorite.
1.Alabama A&M Lady Bulldogs (21-9, 17-1)

The Lady Bulldogs of Alabama A&M remain atop Dr. Cavil’s Inside the HBCU Sports Lab Women’s Major Division Top 5 rankings. The Lady Bulldogs, who at the time of this writing, have not tasted defeat since a surprising 74-72 overtime loss to Mississippi Valley State on January 1, defeated Southern 64-61 in its season finale. The Lady Bulldogs head into the SWAC Tournament as the No. 1 seed.
