ESPN’s Marc J. Spears caps for LeBron James on national television

For approximately the last decade the propaganda arm of Klutch Sports, AKA, the LeMedia, has been on a jihad to convince the basketball populace that LeBron James is the best basketball player ever to grace an NBA hardwood.

To push their rhetoric, the Klutch media machine has several prominent talking sports personalities in its employ, with many of them infesting outlets ESPN and FS1. Whether it be Shannon Sharpe, Nick Wright, Brian Windhorst, Colin Cowherd, Kendrick Perkins, or the host of other affiliated gasbags, when it comes to spreading the gospel of LeBron they have continually shown they have no scruples, resorting to contorting history, denigrating other players and eras or outright lying.

Which brings us to these comments made by Marc J. Spears. In a recent appearance on NBA Today, following the Lakers’ loss to the Orlando Magic, Spears said, “There aren’t many players in the NBA that close games better than LeBron James….I want the ball in LeBron James’ hands.

I’m not sure what NBA Mr. Spears is consuming but James is not who I’d want to close games, particularly as a Laker, where he is just 1-30 on game-tying or go-ahead attempts within the final 5 seconds of the fourth quarter or overtime. That is not to say he has never hit big shots, that is most certainly not the case, LeBron’s propensity to shrink in big-time moments cannot be overlooked or denied.

As a Laker, James is 1-30 in go ahead or game-tying shot in the last five seconds of the 4th quarter or overtime.

Being “clutch” is also being able to go to the charity stripe and knock down critical free throws or making key defensive plays. When it pertains to the former this is an area LeBron has faltered in numerous times. This was put on display in the Lakers’ loss to the Orlando Magic in which his missed free throw allowed Desmond Bane’s three-pointer to go ahead, rather than the game-tying shot.

Whether he is now suckling from the teat of Klutch Sports or he really believes that LeBron James is one of the best closers in the game, Mr. Spears is either compromised or completely off his rocker.
