For Israel, once again it was no Deni Avdija, no problem, as the Israeli team defeating Georgia,104-96, a trio of 18 point efforts from Yam Madar, Tomer Ginat and Roman Sorkin.
The win was the second consecutive victory for Israel, having just defeated the SEC’s Auburn Tiger 95-86 in Tel Aviv.
A rematch between the two clubs, Israel and Georgia is scheduled for Saturday, albeit this one wil be behind closed doors. At this juncture, Advija’s status is still uncertain. In that game Georgia will look to bank at least one victory in friendly/exhibition play as the team plays host to Group A of the upcoming EuroBasket 2022, where they will compete against Belgium, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Spain and Turkey.
Israel is slotted for Group D in Eurobasket 2022 play, which will take place in Prague and in addition to Israel, includes host nation, Czech Republic, Finland, the Netherlands, Poland and Serbia.
