Grambling’s Roderick Coffee III and Paul McMillian IV to take part in l National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) HBCU Top 50 Camp

Coffee III and Paul McMillian IV will compete in the seventh annual National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) HBCU Top 50 Camp this week.

Held from July 31 to August 2 at Morehouse College, the signature event is modeled after the renowned NBPA Top 100 camp and is specifically designed to foster the holistic development of elite HBCU athletes both on and off the court.

Coffee, a transfer from Florida A&M, established himself as one of the best guards in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). He earned SWAC All-Tournament honors while dishing out 105 assists, the fifth most in the conference. He also averaged 5.1 points per game with 3.9 rebounds per game. He also led the team in steals with 30. 

McMillian, a transfer from Canisius, was one of the best players in the nation. He led the MAAC and ranked 20th in the nation in scoring, putting up 20.0 ppg. He also grabbed 3.5 reb. and and registered 2.8 ast. The Cincinnati, Ohio native scored in double figures in 29 straight games and put up a season-high 31 points twice last season. 

The Top 50 Basketball Camp featured the best men’s basketball players from the SIAC and SWAC. Over three days, they competed, trained, and attended educational sessions for holistic success. The Top 50 Basketball Camp helps HBCU student-athletes pursue professional basketball or other career paths, while also giving NBA players coaching and mentoring experience.
