Hawks may bench a couple of vets

The Atlanta Hawks are a bad team and at though the NBA has not yet reached the halfway point, but at 7-27 , the focus of their season has switched to evaluation mode. What this means is increased time for younger players to allow the organization to see what they have and this focus on the youth usually means a decrease in minutes for veterans.

In the case of the Hawks those veterans are Evan Turner and Chandler Parsons.

According to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe , both Parsons and Turner were spoken to about being inactive for a while so the younger guys can get a look.

On the season Turner is averaging 3.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 12.8 minutes per contest, while Parsons is putting just 2.8 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.6 assists in a mere 10.8 minutes of action.
