Isaiah Knowles named a finalist for Harlon Hill Trophy

The list of Finalists for the Harlon Hill Award was announced, and Albany State quarterback Isaiah Knowles was among the 36 names listed as potential recipients of the prestigious honor. 

The Golden Rams went 10-1 overall and a perfect 8-0 in the SIAC on the path to their 16th conference crown as well as a berth in the NCAA Division II Playoffs. Knowles played 

him a prominent role in the Golden Rams’ reascension to the top of the SIAC mountain, as the graduate student at the controls of the Albany State offense, the unit has averaged an SIAC-best 35.4 points per game. 

In the season the Tampa, Florida native has completed 158 of 257 passes for 1,907 yards 17 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions.

Named after legendary North Alabama player and Chicago Bears standout Harlon Hill, the Harlon Hill is seen as the Heisman Trophy of Division II football. Sports Information Directors from the 159 football-playing D-II institutions vote on the winner. 

All 36 nominees will appear on regional ballots, with the top two voted on from each region advancing to the national vote. Regional voting wraps up on December 1 and the winner will be announced on December 19.
