In his rookie season in the BIG3, Joe Johnson quickly established himself as the undisputed best player in the league, hitting several game-winning shots, leading the league in both total points scored (175) and points per game (21.9) en route to winning league MVP. Johnson’s on-court exploits helped expansion team Triplets to a league-best 7-1 record and the prohibitive favorite heading into the playoffs.
Johnson’s dominance of the league was not unnoticed by the NBA, with the 76ers bringing him for a workout last Thursday, with other teams, including the Clippers, Bucks, Pelicans and Nuggets expected to have a closer look at the former All-Star.
In the title game “Iso Joe” showed up big once again, scoring 28 points and helping Triplets defeat the Killer 3’s 50-42. Stephen Jackson led the Killer 3’s in defeat with 19 points.
