Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is not certain if he will take the court Saturday for game one of the team’s first round playoff series against the Brooklyn Nets because of let knee pain.
According to Rosalyn Gold-Onwude of TNT, the knee pain started after the All-Star break.
The team will determine Embiid’s availability for Game 1 following Friday’s practice. He missed 5 of the team last 7 games with the issue, which he has called “extremely frustrating.”
If the 76ers want to return to the Finals for the first time since 2001, they will need a healthy Embiid. As he has been plagued by injuries at various points of his young career, the team will have monitor this situation and handle it appropriately so their All-Star center can be at his best to help the 76ers potentially compete for titles for years to come.
