Lebron James is done for the season

It appears Lebron James’ first playoff-less offeseason in over a decade will start even earlier than anticipated.

In a statement, via Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet, Lakers President Magic Johnson made announcement that Lebron would not play in the team’s final six ballgames.

“After consulting with our team doctors and medical staff, we have decided to hold LeBron out of games for the remainder of the season. This decision will allow his groin to fully heal, and is best for the future success of both LeBron and the Lakers.”

James suffered a groin injury on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors that caused him to miss 18 games. Since his return, the team has sat for a handful of games along the way for ( the fancy sounding sports science phrase of the month) load management.
