Markieff Morris likes plenty of things about the Thunder organization- except his playing time.
Speaking to reporters during his exit interview Thursday, Morris was very complementary of the Thunder organization, saying he was open to re-upping with the ballclub, provided he has a more substantial role.
Morris signed with the Thunder in February, following his his trade from the Washington Wizards to the New Orleans Pelicans and subsequent waiving by the Pelicans. In the 24 regular season games he played in with the he averaged 6.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in just 16.1 minutes per contest; this was a sharp decline from the numbers he was putting up with the Wizards of 11.6 points and 5.5 rebounds in 29.0 minutes.
With the Thunder having their hands tied financially ( they will be far above the salary cap in 2019-20) , which will limit their ability to bring someone in who is as good as , much less better than, Morris.
