The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has announced its 2025 All-MEAC Football Teams, recognizing the hard work, dedication, and standout performances of student-athletes across the conference.
Leading the First Team selections is North Carolina Central with 12 honorees, followed by Delaware State with six and South Carolina State with five. Morgan State and Howard each placed two student-athletes on the First Team.
All awards and honors were voted on by the MEAC’s head football coaches and sports information directors.
The MEAC’s Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year will be revealed during the National Football Foundation (NFF) Annual Awards Press Conference on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino beginning at 9 a.m. PST. The press conference will stream live on ESPN+.
This year’s specialty award recipients include:

  • Offensive Lineman of the Year: Roger Smith, South Carolina State
  • Rookie of the Year: Raymond Moore III, Morgan State
  • Coach of the Year: Chennis Berry, South Carolina State

Roger Smith delivers back-to-back excellence for South Carolina State, becoming the second consecutive Bulldog offensive lineman to earn the MEAC’s highest honor in the trenches. A dominant and steady force on the offensive front, Smith anchored a unit that powered the Bulldogs to 5,050 yards of total offense, averaging 420.8 yards per game.

With Smith leading the way, S.C. State paced the MEAC in passing offense (284.0 ypg), ranking ninth nationally, and finished second in the conference in total offense (413.0 ypg), 20th nationally. His consistent performance earned him four MEAC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors during the 2025 season, showcasing his weekly impact and leadership.

Raymond Moore III produced an exceptional freshman season, passing for 1,049 yards, completing 90 of 166 attempts (54.2%), and averaging 116.6 yards per game with nine touchdowns. A true dual-threat, he added 414 rushing yards and six touchdowns, averaging 46 yards per game and ranking ninth in the MEAC in rushing.

Appearing in nine games with five starts, Moore earned MEAC Rookie of the Week honors six times and is one of 25 finalists for the 2025 Jerry Rice Award, presented annually to the top freshman in Division I FCS football.
In just his second year leading South Carolina State, Chennis Berry has solidified himself as one of the most dynamic coaches in HBCU football. Since taking over the program, Berry has engineered a championship-caliber culture and remains undefeated in MEAC play (10–0).

Berry guided the Bulldogs to a 9–3 overall record and a perfect 5–0 conference mark in 2025, securing their second consecutive MEAC Championship. His leadership once again propelled S.C. State to the Cricket Celebration Bowl, marking the program’s second straight appearance under his direction.
