NORFOLK, Va., Dec. 26, 2018—Delaware State senior NaJai Pollardwas selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced today. Bethune-Cookman’s Kiana Williams and Florida A&M’s Mya Moye shared Rookie of the Week honors, while Coppin State junior Chance Graham was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Pollard (5-11, F, Sr., Richmond, Va.) had yet another monster game this past week, dropping a season-high 36 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the Hornets’ heartbreaking loss at Robert Morris this past Tuesday. It was her third 30-point game of the season and her fourth double-double. Pollard also had her best single-game shooting percentage against Robert Morris, hitting 16 of her 21 field goals (.762).
Williams (5-6, G, Fr., Columbia, Md.) averaged 15.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in helping Bethune-Cookman to a 1-1 mark this past week in a tournament at Georgia State. She went a combined 13-for-25 (.520) from the floor for the week, and she had her best game against Georgia State – dropping 19 points while grabbing five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Williams also had 12 points, five boards and four assists against Kennesaw State.
Moye (5-6, G, F, Washington, D.C.) earned All-Tournament honors at the Stetson Hatter Invitational after averaging 15.5 points per game in two contests. She went a combined 10-for-18 (.556) from the floor for the week and made eight of her 14 3-pointers (.571). She had 18 points and hit five 3-pointers against tournament host Stetson, before going 3-for-4 from distance and sinking 13 points against Western Michigan.
Graham (6-0, F, Jr., Upper Marlboro, Md.) averaged 12.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game this past week, and of her 24 total rebounds, 21 came on the defensive end. She grabbed 15 rebounds against Florida Gulf Coast, before turning in her best defensive performance of the week against UAB – a game in which she grabbed nine rebounds (eight defensive), snatched a career high-tying five steals and blocked a shot.

Chasimmie Brown (B-CU) had seven rebounds and a block against Kennesaw State.
Angel Golden (B-CU) dropped 24 points against Kennesaw State, including the game-winning three.
Jalynda Salley (CSU) recorded a double-double against UAB with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Dy’Manee Royal (FAMU) dropped 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against Western Michigan.
Sarah Edmond (HOW) scored 13 points each in games against Mercer and Cincinnati.
Keyera Eaton (MDES) scored a career-high 28 points to go along with seven rebounds and three steals in a win over Mount St. Mary’s.
Jihayah Chavis (MSU) grabbed 18 rebounds and three steals against UMBC.
Adre’onia Coleman (MSU) dropped 26 points and grabbed six rebounds against UMBC.
Ashia McCalla (MSU) had 10 points and nine rebounds against UMBC.
C’coriea Foy (NCAT) dropped 27 points against Elon.
Taylor Brown (SCSU) recorded a double-double against East Carolina, with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
