Norfolk State women’s hoops has finalized a home-and-home agreement with Ole Miss commencing with the upcoming basketball season.
“This is an exciting moment for our women’s basketball program and the entire Norfolk State community. Hosting a nationally ranked SEC opponent at Echols Hall speaks volumes about the direction we’re headed and the reputation we’re building. With two nationally ranked programs set to visit over the next two seasons, our fans can look forward to elite-level basketball right here in Norfolk.”
The series tips off when the Lady Spartans head to Oxford, Mississippi November 3, 2025, to take on the Rebels. The next season Ole Miss heads to Echols Hall for the first time.
Ole Miss completed the 2024-25 season 22-11, reaching the Sweet 16 and finishing the season as the 17th-ranked team in the country.
Norfolk State won its third consecutive MEAC Tournament, recording a perfect 16-0 record in conference play and earning a 13-seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Norfolk State is no stranger to competing with and beating SEC opponents, going 2-1 against that league last season, notching wins over Missouri and Auburn.
