For MEAC men’s basketball teams Wednesday it was a collective trip to the woodshed, as not a single team from the conference registered a win. Losses ranged from Morgan State’s 7-point fall to Mount St. Mary’s to the 62-point thrashing Illinois laid on North Carolina A&T.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — The North Carolina A&T State men’s basketball team fell to the No. 8 Illinois Fighting Illini, 122-60, in the 2020-21 season opener inside the State Farm Center on Wednesday.

IOWA CITY, Iowa — North Carolina Central set the pace early on the road at Iowa, but the nationally-ranked Hawkeyes pulled away for a 97-67 victory in the 2020-21 season opener at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Appalachian State 81, South Carolina State 61
ORANGEBURG, S.C. — Floyd Rideau, Jr. dropped a team-high 16 points Wednesday afternoon at the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Center, but South Carolina State fell 81-61 to Appalachian State in its season opener.
