North Carolina Central junior quarterback Davius Richard was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Football Offensive Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference announced today. Howard University junior defensive back Kenny Gallop, Jr. was named Defensive Player of the Week, while Morgan State’s Keith Jenkins, Jr. was named both Rookie of the Week and Specialist of the Week, and North Carolina Central sophomore Torricelli Simpkins III earned Offensive Lineman of the Week honors.
Richard (QB, 6-3, 215, Jr., Belle Glade, Fla.)
Richard accounted for a career-best six touchdowns in the Eagles’ nationally-televised win over Morgan State this past Thursday, throwing four touchdowns and rushing for two more. He was 17-for-24 through the air for 217 yards in just three quarters of action, while also rushing nine times for 66 yards – 7.3 yards per carry.
Kenny Gallop (DB, 6-1, 210, Jr., Portsmouth, Va.)
The junior defensive back racked up a career-high 16 tackles (including 11 solo stops) in the Bison’s loss to Harvard in the Truth & Service Classic. Among those 16 stops was one tackle for a loss of five yards.
Keith Jenkins (RS, 6-1, 185, Fr., Gainesville, Va.)
Jenkins averaged 43.0 yards on five kickoff returns against North Carolina Central, including a 96-yard return for a touchdown in the second quarter. He currently ranks No. 6 nationally in kickoff returns (32.0 yards/return).
Torricelli Simpkins (OL, 6-5, 310, So., Charlotte, N.C.)
Simpkins graded out at 93% against Morgan State, anchoring an offensive line that helped the Eagles rack up 530 yards of total offense and 59 points. He recorded nine pancake blocks and did not commit a penalty or allow a sack.

Isaiah Cook (Delaware State) had three pancake blocks and graded out at 89% against Norfolk State.
Marquis Gillis (Delaware State) rushed 16 times for 123 yards and a touchdown against Norfolk State.
C.J. Henry (Delaware State) threw three touchdown passes in a win over Norfolk State.
Matt Noll (Delaware State) averaged 41.8 yards per punt against Norfolk State, including a long of 61 yards.
Brooks Parker (Delaware State) had eight tackles and a sack against Norfolk State.
Jaylon Tolbert (Howard) threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns against Harvard.
Quantez Mansfield (North Carolina Central) led the Eagles with six tackles (three solo) against Morgan State, including three stops for loss and 1.5 sacks.
Adrian Olivo (North Carolina Central)made all eight extra-point tries and converted his lone field goal of the night for 11 points against Morgan State.
Arthur Rodgers (North Carolina Central)rushed eight times for 48 yards against Morgan State, averaging 6.0 yards per carry.
Jeblonski Green (South Carolina State)had three tackles for loss and a sack against Virginia University of Lynchburg.
Rakim White (South Carolina State)caught four passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Virginia University of Lynchburg.
