The New Orleans Pelicans announced the team had hired former Brooklyn Nets assistant generals manager Trajan Langdon as their new GM.
According to The Advocate’s Scott Kushner Langdon set the foundation for this move in his time as as a scout with the Spurs and Cavaliers where he “built his reputation as a scout with the Spurs and Cavaliers before joining general manager Sean Marks’ staff in Brooklyn in 2016, where the Nets have taken the league by surprise.”
Prior to his time as a scout, he had a brief career as a player in a short run with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He will work directly under recently hired president of basketball operations David Griffin as the two attempt to guide the franchise through the uncertainty that shrouds the Pelicans in lieu of the Anthony Davis situation.
Even if they are forced to trade Davis, of which a snowball has a better chances in Hades than of that trade not eventually happening, potentially resuming with a Zion Williamson and a myriad of young players is not an awful place to have to reset from.
