Robert Jones calls out no call at the end of the James Madison game

Wins at any level of collegiate athletics are difficult to come by. When it appears that a team has been shafted because of the actions or lack thereof of the zebras can be intensely frustrating.

Such was the position that Norfolk State head mens basketball coach Robert Jones found himself and his team in. After losing a close, bars fought contest to James Madison, Coach Jones was not a happy camper.

He posted a video of a play late in the game with the caption:

“I usually don’t leave a game feeling robbed because good/bad things happen on both sides but today geesh. 8 seconds left we needed this one! We just have to be even better and we will be!”

It does appear that Keyonte Lewis was clearly fouled by Bradley Douglas as he drove to the hoop for a potential go-ahead basket with 6 seconds left in the game. The hack was not called and the Spartans would go on to lose the contest.

The late-game play in question

James Madison attempted 22 free throws on the evening, compared to 17 for Norfolk State. It should be noted that the Spartans missed 9 free throws while JMU clanked 10 of their own.

Does Coach Jones have a point?
