The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its softball weekly honors, released by the league office on Monday.
Da’Ondalyn Simmons (Savannah State) was named Player of the Week, while Zamiyah Williams (Miles) earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Da’Ondalyn Simmons, Savannah State| First Base | Senior | Tallahassee, Fla.
The senior first basemen hit the lights out in a three-game series sweep of Allen University this weekend. Simmons slashed .833/.750/1.000 over the series with a season-high five doubles and one home run. Overall, she battled .833 registering 10 hits on 12 at bats with nine runs and 10 RBI.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Zamiyah Williams, Miles | Pitcher | Senior | Atlanta, Ga
Williams went 4-0 in the circle with a 0.32 earned run average for the Lady Bears. She threw three complete games, including her second career no-hitter in a 13-0 win over LeMoyne-Owen. She allowed just one earned run over 22 innings and struck out 15 batters.
