The department of athletics is excited to host its 2023 Back to the Bluff weekend August 18-21, 2023 as the Jaguars gear up for the start of the 2023-24 season.
RV’s are welcome and parking will be available on the west side of the F.G. Clark Activity Center and Ballentine Plaza.
Kickoff for the weekend starts Friday, August 18 with the Southern University Athletics Inaugural Gala starting at 6:00 pm at the Raising Cane’s River Center.
Saturday, August 19 join us on the bluff for Fan Fest.
-Football will host a scrimmage inside A.W. Mumford Stadium, gates will open at 8:45 am and the scrimmage will start at 9:30 am.
-Volleyball will host a free serving and passing clinic for grades for 4th – 8th inside Seymour Gym, registration starts at 9:00 am and the clinic runs from 9:30 am – 11:00 am.
-Doors to the F.G. Clark Activity will open at 11:00 am, where fans can enjoy some of the Southern University Athletics vendors and refreshments form Coca-Cola.
-Fan Fest will start around 12:00 pm with special appearances from the Human Jukebox and SU Cheerleaders. Hear from AD Banks and SU Head Coaches as well as meet and greet the SU Football team, Volleyball team, Cross-Country team, and Soccer team. Posters and autographs will be available at the conclusion of fan fest.
-Season ticket holders will be able to pick up there season parking pass if they already purchased it.
Sunday, August 20 the 2nd annual SU Athletics and Hardwood Club Golf Classic reception presented by T-Mobile will be held at L’Auberge Hotel and Casino for 6:00 pm.
Monday, August 21 join us for the 2nd annual Southern University Athletics and Hardwood Club Golf Classic presented by CareSouth. The 3-man scramble will start at 9:00 am at the University Club.
