The Hayes Valley neighborhood in San Francisco’s Western Addition district is the latest addition to the unfortumate and continuing growing list of locales that is now part of this segment. It was here that a local youth trying to sell some shoes found himself the victim of a robbery.
At around 5:30 p.m. on June 23 a 14-year-old had arranged to meet a girl to sell her a pair of sneakers. Upon his arrival, he was greeted by the girl and two other boys, who threatened him, stole his phone and the shoes.
No arrest has been made in connection with this crime.
A bit of advice to the sellers who choose to do in-person transcations: meet at a police station or other designated area and if you do not know the other party, do not go alone.
