This edition of Stupid Things People Do For Sneakers shows that your kicks may not be safe, even in your own home.
On November 27, a homeowner in Jersey City, NJ told police he left his home at 9:20 p.m. and when he returned at 11:10 p.m., he discovered his home had been robbed.
Nearly $9,000 in valuables taken from the home-including $5,000 worth of sneakers.
According to police radio transmissions, there was sign of forced entry and police think it may have been a case of the door being left unlocked.
The victim told law enforcement that $600 speakers, $5,000 in sneakers, $3,350 worth of jewelry were stolen.
A spokeswoman for the Jersey City police confirmed the home had been burgled but did not confirm any of the details surrounding the crime.
