For those who celebrate Christmas, it is seen as day with family , full of giving and receiving gifts; for a pair of thieves, it was a day of taking, and a black owned sneaker store was the unfortunate victims.
According to the owners of St. Louis’ Sneaker Perfection, surveillance footage taken along 6 a.m. on Christmas morning showed two men smashing the windows and entering the store.
CEO and co-owner Tommy Williams said thousands of dollars worth of merchandise was stolen.
“They started grabbing things. I think they left for a little bit, got flashlights and came back and went back at it again,” Williams said.
“My kids couldn’t have a regular Christmas because their parents had to come down here, and we had to stay down here for hours to figure out what’s going on. They were asking questions about the store all day.”

Ashley Williams, co-owner of Sneaker Perfection, was understandably crestfallen about this turn of events and had this to say :
“We treat everybody like family. So to be hurt by a family member, because that’s what it feels like, it’s disheartening really. I don’t know any other way to say it,”
The shop will be closed until February.
