This edition of Stupid Things People Do For Sneaker comes out New Bedford, Massachusetts and it serves as yet another example of why sellers who decide to engage in face-to-face transactions need to do so in a manner that maximizes their safety. Police there are investigating an incident in which a group of youths that were robbed of a pair of sneakers.
Tuesday, New Bedford PD received and responded to a report of an armed robbery. According to police, a group of youngsters were selling sneakers to another individual, and for some reason the meeting was scheduled for 11:30 p.m. That potential “buyer” took the footwear and ran off. The NBPD’s incident log indicated the suspect was armed, however a police spokesperson did not divulge what type of weapon was used in the commission of the robbery. They also did not mention what kind of shoes.
No injuries were reported in connection with this incident.
