Stupid Things People Do For Sneakers: Maine man arrested in shoe store robbery

A Waterville, ME man was arrested in connection with a robbery of a local sneaker store.

According to Major Jason Longley of the Waterville Police Department, a call was received about a robbery taking place at the Shoe Department Encore store located on JFK Plaza shortly before 7pm on August 11.

Store employees were able to provide officers with a description of the alleged robber and the vehicle in which he drove off.

A mere 10 minutes after the heist, police located the suspect’s vehicle. Kirby Bradford, 59, was detained at the scene.

Major Longley says the investigation officers found evidence, within Bradley’s vehicle linking him to the robbery. He was arrested and charged with robbery and violating the conditions of his release.

Bradley is being held without bail until his October 2025 court date.
