A South Carolina man had the tables turned on him when he tried to rob a would-be sneaker seller.
Twenty-three year-old Je’nell Montez Burton agreed to meet a male and a female to purchase a pair of sneakers at approximately 6 p.m. on November 30, 2019, but instead of taking out his wallet, he pulled a gun on the sellers. However the sellers came prepared and the male pulled a weapon of his own and proceeded to fire at Burton, striking him and causing non-threatening injuries to his hand and leg.
Button was then taken to a local hospital and treated and subsequently taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. He was charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon during the commission of a robbery, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and unlawful carrying of a weapon. He is being held on a $75,000 surety bond that was set by a judge.
No other injuries were reported during the incident. Columbiapd.net
