Our latest edition of Stupid Things People Do For Sneakers takes us to Bethpage, New York, where police made an arrest in a robbery that occurred last month.
According to Nassau Police, Sean Jones, 20, made arrangements through Facebook Marketplace to sell a 20-year-old man sneakers. The two agreed to meet near Baldwin Place and Broadway at around 4:45 pm on March 31.
Once the transaction was completed and the buyer had the sneakers in hand, Jones brandished a handgun and reclaimed the sneakers. Police say that Jones fled in a red Pontiac; the victim was unharmed.
Saturday, Jones was taken into custody at 3:50 p.m. He was charged with first-degree robbery and criminal possession of a firearm.
