Over the course of us documenting sneaker-related tomfoolery, we have covered scores of unusual cases. This may be oddest incident we have ever reported on( and thats saying something).
A NY woman was the victim of a strange sneaker thief. According to police the woman was standing on the platform of the Grand Army Plaza 2 and 3 subway station just after 11 a.m. EST and followed her up to the staircase that leads to the street.
The thief then proceeded to pull her Nike running shoe, valued at $40, off her right foot and then ran back down into the train station, hopped a turnstile and got on a train, police added.
Law enforcement also said the woman and the alleged thief had no interaction prior to the theft and the victim reported no injuries.
Police say the suspect is between 20-30 years old, standing approximately 5’10” and was last seen wearing a grey knit cap, grey vest over a blue sweater, blue jeans and white sneakers.
