According to authorities in Providence, RI, an investigation has commenced following the alleged robbery of a teenager by a group men in the skybridge separating the Providence Place Mall and the Omni Providence Hotel.
The victim , a 14-year-old boy, reported to police they were robbed by three men, who who ran up on them and demanded the young man’s sneakers. The male victim said he tried to resist but was overpowered and had the shoes taken off his feet. The youngster said another male took the chain he was wearing.
Surveillance footage showed the teenagers sitting in the overpass prior to being approached by the males and having the shoes forcibly removed form the 14-year-old’s feet and a chain snatched off his neck. His friend, a female wInness, attempted to intervene but was shoved away as the men left, heading down a staricase.
The teenage victims said the males did not threaten them with weapons.
