Stupid Things People Do For Sneakers: Third Man admits role in 2024 sneaker robbery

In May we reported on a male who pleaded guilty to his role in a robbery set up disguised as a sneaker sale.

The third man involved in that robbery Andrew Leighton Meetzler, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges, avoiding a pair of felonies, and was sentenced to six years’ probation. Metzler was charged with felony counts of robbery by force and conspiracy to commit robbery by force, misdemeanor counts of theft, receiving stolen property, conspiracy to commit assault, and summary harassment.

Last year, Levi Joseph Caroll, Chase Peklak and Andrew Leighton Metzler, all 21 years old, played roles in the robbery of a would be sneaker seller. The meeting , arranged through Facebook Marketplace was to sell a pair of sneakers for $300.

While Carroll assaulted the victim to obtain the sneakers, Metzler entered the Nissan Altima that the victim drove to the meeting and stole the victim’s girlfriend’s purse.

Peklak pleaded guilty in April to felony conspiracy to commit robbery and court records indicate he is to be sentenced this month. His other criminal cohort, Carroll, pleaded guilty in June to misdemeanor assault and conspiracy to commit theft and was sentenced to 18 months’ probation.
