In a previous edition of Stupid Things People Do For Sneakers, we covered the story of Fat Joe’s former business partner Scott Spina, a.k.a. Scotty Kickz. Back in April, Spina pled guilty to one count of wire fraud. He got in hot water when, according to court documents, he used credit card information of customers not for their intended purposes of purchasing clients’ shoes but instead made personal purchases. Spina also falsely reported legitimate purchases made on his personal credit card as fraudulent.
On July 23, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced that Spina had been sentenced to 35 months in prison for his crimes.
According to the U.S. Attorney General’s office, Spina admitted he obtained or sought to obtained over $550,000 in money or goods.
U.S. Disrtict Court Judge Esther Salas, whom Spina previously pleaded guilty before, also sentenced Spina to three years of supervised release and ordered him to pay restitution of $516,396.
