Police in Slat Lake City, Utah say a man that robbed a teenager of his shoes was charged Tuesday/
According to the charging documents , at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Saturday 18-year-old Keshab Bhattari and two others approached a 15-year-old boy, as he awaited the train at 2225 S. 500 East. The males told the boy “they liked his shoes” and then they told him to follow them to a nearby alley.
As the youth trailed the males, one of them pulled out a handgun and demanded he hand over the Air Max shoes he was wearing.
After the robbery, the victim called his mother who picked him up and they drove around seaching for the robbers.
They spotted the Bhattarai a few blocks away, still carrying the stolen shoes. Upon being spotted by the boy, his mother, and her boyfriend, Bhattarai dropped the shoes and ran but he also fired a shot at them as the three approached him. No injuries were sustained.
Surveillance videos from nearby businesses aided Salt Lake police in identifying the gunman, with his “distinctive red Gucci fanny pack”, the charging documents state.
Bhattarai was charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony; it is not yet known if any charges have been charged against the other two suspects.
