Way back in July, we reported that the Air Jordan 14 would be part of this year’s Doernbecher Freestyle Collection. This partnership between Nike and the Doernbecher Children’s Hospitals commenced in 2004 and has allowed some of the youngsters at the hospital to put their own spin on a selected group of silhouettes. Nike Doernbecher 1: Official Images

The Doernbecher Collection, which allows children from the Doernbecher Hospital to put their own spin on select Nike silhouettes. The Air Force One is no stranger to the collection, having made an appearance in 2018 and they will be included in the upcoming one. This Air Force One will be designed by 14-year-old Zion Thompson of Eugene, Oregon who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. For the past 15 years, a group of children from the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital are selected to partner with Nike to put their own spin on a predetermined roster of silhouettes. Every year as part of the partnership between Nike and the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, six youngsters get to put on their designer caps and put their own spin on Nike silhouettes. There is always an Air Jordan as a component of the collection,and this year is no different.
