Draymond Green signs max deal with Warriors

Well it looks like the Warriors did not want Draymond Green’s looming free agency to be yet another distracting storyline as they attempt to shift into the next phase of continuing their dynasty post KD. According to Adrian Wojnarowski ESPN the Warriors signed their defensive captain and leader to a four-year $100 million maximum contract. With the signing of Green, the Warriors have the services of three stalwarts – Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson – secured through at least 2022.

The Golden State Warriors waived guard Shaun Livingston Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. As the Warriors try to reform and remain a force in the Western Conference in lieu of the departure of Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins and the injury to Klay Thompson, the team had to recently trade stalwart and jack of all trades Andre Iguodala and now Livingston is the latest fixture to be shown the door. Hawks and Warriors swap big men

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Atlanta Hawks and the Golden State Warriors have engaged in a swap of young big men. The Warriors will receive Omari Spellman, while Atlanta will get Damian Jones and a second round draft pick. Though Jones has appeared in only 49 through his first three seasons, he showed some promise last season before going down with a torn chest muscle. According to the San Francisco Chronicle’s Connor Letourneau, Klay Thompson has agreed on a 5 year, $190 million with the Golden State Warriors. Thompson suffering a torn ACL in Game 6 of the NBA Finals and will likely be out for most, if not all of next season, did not deter the Warriors from offering Klay the max. Golden State has not been mentioned amongst the teams at the forefront of free agency but It seems that Golden State is not just going to stand pat and let this offseason pass them by. They decided to go out and acquire D’Angelo Russell. As just reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Warriors and Nets have agreed on a sign-and-trade for the first time All-Star guard.
